Phase 1 of the Campus Operating System (OS) Upgrade has been successfully completed.
As of September 1, 92 computer labs and classrooms have been upgraded to Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.6, including 11 mobile computer carts. In a number of cases, University computers were also replaced with new Lenovo workstations. Minor issues with computers in specific locations are being addressed by A&IT technicians on a case-by-case basis. Please report any problems with classroom computers to the A&IT Help Desk via email at helpdesk@csuci.edu or call 805-437-8552.
Planning for Phase 2 of the upgrade is underway. During Phase 2, employee computers will be upgraded to the latest campus operating system versions. Phase 2 is expected to commence during the Fall 2010 semester.
In preparation for Phase 2 of the migration, a new Guide to Backup for Windows Computers has created to assist employees in the backing up data on University computers for migration to Windows 7.
